The Scandal of Grace
The scandalous nature of grace. ❤️🩹
Imagine it. An innocent, upright person is framed for heinous crimes committed by someone else. Adding insult to injury, the accused is, ironically, unmatched in power, wisdom, and status. He is well aware of the violation of his rights, but chooses to say very little in his own defense. His pleas for exoneration had already fallen on deaf ears.
The time comes when he stands to receive sentencing, surrounded by the false accusers who had the audacity to show up for the ruling. Already beaten and bludgeoned, in this moment he understands two burdensome truths:
He would receive maximum punishment - the death penalty - for crimes He never committed.
ONLY he possessed the body type and blood type required to sufficiently atone for the savagery committed by the real perpetrators.
Let me be clear. The criminals couldn’t even pay for what they’d done and Mr. Just stands here knowing that like he’s the only one who could. So the real perps get to waltz away “scott free” by using his sentencing as payment for their own crimes. Furthermore, they also have opportunity for continuous restoration - altogether avoiding condemnation - AND the promise of even greater reward when they meet the generous emancipator again.
Are y’all tracking with me here? Have you ever heard of such a scandal? Does it even make sense? Hard to accept (unless of course you were the benefactor of such benevolence.)
- Someone suffers so you can rejoice?
- Someone is exposed while your actions get covered.
- Someone experiences injustice so you can be justified?
- Someone takes on your dirt so you can be sanctified?
- Someone pays your debt so you can be debt free?
- Someone dies so you get to live?
- Someone is bruised and you get to heal?
Friends this doesn’t seem right? I mean…wrong on so many levels.
Where are my social justice warriors? Where are you defense attorneys? I KNOW y’all are outraged!!!!…and understandably so, bc this is outrageous. Can we mobilize a coalition to fight such atrocities? Are we gonna stand by silently and let this slide?
Let’s tell everybody what happened to this just man. Let’s put this word out there before they try to censor us.
