This Means War (Copy)

I’m offended.  I know, I know. This is the official, undisputed battle cry of the 21st century. But before you chalk me up to a thin-skinned, hypersensitive geriatric millennial, I ask you to lend me your ears, or well…your eyes. Hopefully you’ll better understand my offense…and be mutually offended yourself.  

See, it started with a lie - a bold, calculated, destructive fabrication formed in the pits of hell with the sole intention to deceive and ultimately destroy. (The melodrama is warranted here – you’ll see.)  

It happened long ago when YHWH, the Most High God, master-minded His finest creations – man and woman. First, He creates “adam,” the man.  I like to imagine it much like James Weldon Johnson describes it in “The Creation:”

“This great God, like a mammy bending over her baby

Kneeled down in the dust, toiling over a lump of clay

Till He shaped it in His own image.

Then into it he blew the breath of life

And man became a living soul.”

Thereafter, God deems that it was not good for man to be alone and creates woman from man.  He places His divine creation, branded with His image at their post in the perfect Garden of Eden and gives them purpose and provision.  YHWH’s arch enemy, Satan the great deceiver, leveled an assault against God’s creation…and herein lies my offense.
